[ WORK ]

I joined Loughborough University in 2022 as a Graphic and Digital Designer within the Marketing and Advancement team. The role was created to support the University’s design and creative output across multiple channels, with key priorities including:

  • Leading creative campaigns from concept to delivery, managing complex design projects from initial brief through to final execution – ensuring all work meets deadlines, strategic objectives, and brand standards. Producing high-quality, creative design across the full range of University activity – including brand reputation, student recruitment, research promotion, events, campaigns, signage, merchandise and internal communications.

  • Strong conceptual and creative design ability demonstrated through leading large-scale campaigns and developing brand systems that strengthen consistency and audience impact. Supporting the development of visual guidelines, templates and brand toolkits, to ensure designs are adaptable and accessible across multiple formats and platforms.

  • Designing and delivering compelling digital and print assets for web, email, and social media platforms, ensuring consistency with brand guidelines and visual identity. Producing basic animations, motion graphics and reels to enhance campaign storytelling and support digital engagement.

  • Collaborating closely with colleagues across marketing, PR, web, digital and comms to support strategic aims through strong visual storytelling and audience-focused design. Art directing and working with the video and photography team to produce engaging imagery and footage for campaigns and marketing materials.

  • Confidently communicating with stakeholders and senior leaders, translating briefs into strategic, engaging creative solutions that align with institutional goals and resonate with diverse audiences. Attending client meetings to review active projects and briefs, assess requirements and advise on creative resources, timelines, and production needs. Pitching and presenting ideas internally and externally.

  • Creating accessible design solutions in line with WCAG accessibility regulations, ensuring all content meets or exceeds AA-level accessibility. This includes using tools such as Colour Oracle for colour blindness checks and producing fully accessible PDFs for screen readers.

  • Mentoring junior designers, providing feedback, creative guidance, and technical support to maintain high standards of design quality and encourage professional growth within the team. Exploring and introducing new approaches, formats and techniques to push creative boundaries while remaining aligned with brand strategy.

  • Thriving in a fast-paced, multi-project environment, staying calm, organised, and detail-oriented under pressure, with proven ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
